Summary

Description
English: The calcium signaling pathway is involved in a variety of cellular processes including muscle contraction, gamete fertilization, and neurotransmitter release. Since the calcium second messenger has such widespread cellular functionality, it must be tightly regulated. ITP3K, shown in step 6 in the schematic, plays a role in calcium homeostasis by means of signal termination.
