The author of the coat of arms sketch is Silva Veronika Linarte.

According to an old legend, on the place where the lake of Svente now stands, there was a beautiful church. Every Sunday morning, you could hear the ringing of the bell of this church, which called people to the church service. One spring Sunday afternoon, when the church was full of people, she suddenly sank, and a lake appeared at that place, which was called Sventsky, or “holy” lake. Since then, on Sundays, you can hear the ringing of the church bell and the voices of the singers, and those who manage to hear the ringing of the big bell will live a long and happy life.

Sventes pagasta ģerbonis reģistrēts 2013.gada 24.oktobrī. Ģerboņa skices autore ir māksliniece Silva Veronika Linarte.

Ideja ģerboņa skicei radās, pateicoties skaistajai teikai par Sventes ezera rašanos. Teika stāsta, ka vietā, kur tagad atrodas Sventes ezers, bija skaista baznīca. Katru svētdienas rītu varēja dzirdēt šīs baznīcas zvana skaņas, kuras sauca cilvēkus uz dievkalpojumu. Kādā pavasara svētdienā, kad baznīca bija ļaužu pilna, tā pēkšņi nogrima, bet tās vietā parādījās ezers, kuru nosauca par Sventes jeb „svēto” ezeru. No tā laika svētdienās var dzirdēt baznīcas zvana skaņas un dziedātāju balsis, bet tas, kuram izdosies sadzirdēt lielā zvana skaņas, nodzīvos ilgu un laimīgu dzīvi.[1]

Согласно старому преданию, на месте, где теперь находится Свентское озеро, стояла красивая церковь. Каждое воскресное утро можно было услышать звон колокола этой церкви, который зазывал людей на церковную службу. Однажды весенним воскресным днем, когда в церкви было полно народа, она внезапно потонула, а на том месте появилось озеро, которое назвали Свентским, или, «святым». С тех пор по воскресеньям можно услышать звон колокола церкви и голоса певцов, а тот, кому удастся услышать звон большого колокола, проживет долгую и счастливую жизнь.[2]
