This looks like a most interesting library but I don't have time to explore further, with less than an hour before my bus leaves for Castle Bishop I have little enough time to fit in a quick visit to Shrewsbury jail. (With its A.E.Houseman associations). So I content myself with a picture or two. Charles Darwin sits by the library entrance effusing an almost tangible force for the power of studious application, a fitting ethos for any library and especially relevant here as Darwin attended as a pupil in the library's former role as Shrewbury's school.
