ADN-ZB 17.6.81 me. DDR: Hotel "Merkur" in Leipzig Anfang März 1981 wurde in Leipzig das neue Interhotel "Merkur" eröffnet. Das etwa 100 Meter hohe Hotel mit 27 Geschossen wurde von dem japanischen Bauunternehmen Kajima Corporation projektiert. Mit rund 450 Zimmern, zehn Restaurants und Bars, fünf Salons und einem Kongreßzentrum zählt das Hotel "Merkur" zur internationalen Spitzenklasse und bietet Attraktionen wie einen japanischen Garten mit Wasserfall, Teichen und Lampiongirlanden sowie das Nationalitätenrestaurant ""Sakura"".
