For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Die Ablösung und Verproviantierung der Lotsen auf den deutschen Feuerschiffen "Weser" und "Bremen" ist äußerst gefahrvoll sowie hochinteressant. Jedes in die Wesermündung nach Bremerhaven hereinkommende Schiff muß wegen den vielen vorhandenen Sandbänken einen staatlichen Lotsen an Bord nehmen. Die Lotsen befinden sich Tag und Nach, wochenlang an Bord des Feuerschiffes und werden durch einen staatl. Regierungsdampfer abgelöst und verproviantiert. Der staatliche Lotse auch Wächter des Meeres genannt, haftet dafür, daß das fremde Schiff sicher in den deutschen Hafen gelangt. Des Nachts sind die Feuerschiffe durch weithin sichtbare Blinkzeichen erkennbar, sodaß sie gleichzeitig als schwimmende Leuchttürme zu betrachten sind. ( Aufnahmen von unserem nach der Nordsee entsandten Sonder-Bild-Berichterstatter !) Das jedem Seefahrer bekannte deutsche Feuerschiff "Bremen" vor der Wesermündung in der Nordsee. |
