Photograph of brown, 1-septate (2-celled) spores from Buellia disciformis taken through a compound microscope, x1000.   (spores measure 27 x 11 microns)

This specimen of Buellia disciformis was growing on the bark of Acer rubrum L. along the Parkman Trail at Acadia National Park, in Maine, USA.

Collected and identified by E.C. Uebel (No. U-76, 10 Jun 2001).
