Title
English: British Coins
Description
English: A depiction of the obverse and reverse of an Epaticcus gold stater—known as the Corn Ear Warrior type from the British use of 'corn' to describe wheat and grain generally—from the figures decorating the margins of Moll's map of Hertfordshire, sold separately and as Map 18 in his Set of Fifty New and Correct Maps of England and Wales...

The illustration derives from figure 9 of Tabula I Nummi Britannici on Page 87 of William Camden's Britannia, Vol. I. Its note states "The ninth; wherein one on horse-back with a spear and shield; and CAERATIC in letters scattered: from which I should guess it to have been one of that warlike Caratacus, so much commended by Tacitus."

Notes:
Obverse: TASCIE [sic for the actual coin's TASCI F, Tasciovani Filius, son of Tasciovanus]
Reverse: EC ARARTIC [sic for Camden's CEARATIC and the actual coin's EPATICCV or EPATICCVS, Epaticcus]
London: Sold by H. Moll over-against Devereux-Court in the Strand; Tho. Bowles, Print and Map-Seller near the Chapter-House in St. Paul's Church-Yard, and J. Bowles Print and Map-Seller over-against Stocks-Market. 1724.
