DescriptionBrighouse (for Rastrick) Station 1906950.jpg
English: Brighouse (for Rastrick) Station, with train.
View westward, towards Halifax and Manchester; ex-Lancashire & Yorkshire Manchester/Halifax - Bradford/Leeds/Wakefield and Normanton main line. Although the direct line through Brighouse was kept open for freight, the station was closed on 5/1/70 (goods 7/9/70). It was reopened 28/5/00 - in more enlightened times. (The train is a local eastbound, probably to Wakefield, hauled by a Stanier 4MT 2-6-4 tank).
