English: Bowland Station (remains). Near to Bowland, Scottish Borders, Great Britain. View westward from A7 road across Gala Water to Seathope Law (1,778 ft.) and Ferniehurst Hill (1,643 ft.). Beside the river is the ex-NBR Carlisle - Hawick - Galashiels - Edinburgh (Waverley Route) main line, which was closed in its entirety on 6/1/69. Bowland Signalbox can be seen but not the Station, which was closed to passengers on 7/12/53 but remained for goods until 23/3/64. |
