English: Blocks, Alnmouth Tumbled blocks lie along the shore in a straggling double line, like the vertebrae of some monster conquered by the sea.
My first response was revulsion at the desecration of the beach by these intruders, but I grew fond of their corrugated bleakness. In defeat they have a stark beauty. Imagine the beach without them. Nothing. |
