Français : Selon le Bulletin de la Société archéologique et historique du Limousin ;Aux salles des croisades, du palais de Versailles, on ne connait pas les couleurs des armes des sieurs de Rancon, on sait seulement que sur un champ semé de losanges, ils portaient un pal brochant sur le tout. Nous avons conseillé en 1869 de reproduire ainsi les armoiries ; d'or, semé de losanges d'azur, au pal de gueules brochant sur le tout
Nous suivons ici cette interprétation du blasonnement. Il est à noter que ces couleurs sont reprises dans le blason de la ville de Rancon. Dans les versions précédentes les couleurs sont celles de la famille d'Aulnay.
