Map of the districts of Bhutan as they were between 1987 and 1992. In 1987, Gasa was split into Punakha and Thimphu, and Chukha was created from parts of Samtse, Paro and Thimphu. In 1992, Gasa was recreated by splitting a large part off Punakha, and Trashiyangtse was split off of Trashigang, creating the map we have today.
