Description

b. 1886 - d. 1988

After establishing an American Red Cross chapter at Tuskegee Institute, Walcott became its first black female Acting Field Director (1941-42). She next served as Institute Director of Public Relations, promoting the war. Walcott later became the George Washington Carver Museum Curator, preserving the history of Tuskegee Institute.
