Description
English: Dutch sketch map of Western Sumatra from the 1830s. Part of the area in blue is described as "gained from the English in 1825. Much of coast of southwestern Sumatra was a British East India possession known as Bencoleen until Great Britain ceded it to the Netherlands with the Anglo-Dutch treaty of 1824. Its chief settlement was Fort Marlborough, located at Bengkulu.
