DescriptionBelfast St George's Church Window W08 “And when he saw him, he had compassion on him” 2018 08 24.jpg
St George's Church, Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland
English: Stained glass window in the north wall of the nave, created by Clokey & Co., Belfast, and installed in 1935. However, according to gloine.ie, the window was “much altered by many intrusions”. In July 1973, the window was severely damaged due to two bombs close to the church. The window is titled with a quote of Luke 10:33 “And when he saw him, he had compassion on him” in reference to the Good Samaritan. Transcription of the inscription at the bottom: “In loving memory of Sir Robert Hugh Hanley BairdK.B.E.D.L. who died on the 8th day of October 1934. Erected by the people of St. George's Church.” (See Brian M. Walker, A History of St George's Church Belfast, p. 116, 155.)
