Inscribed lower left: June 30th. Inscribed above image: The 16th N.Y. all wore white straw hats and were without knapsacks but wore the haversack and canteen. They laid down preserving their lines — in varied positions. Their duty being to support the artillery. the 27th N.Y. Same as the 16 — but without straw hats.
