DescriptionBarns at Michelcombe - geograph.org.uk - 1178085.jpg
English: Barns at Michelcombe. The lane shown in 1178069 passes a group of old barns as it approaches the junction of Holne Bridleways 4 and 3. The barn on the right dates from the C16 and was originally a longhouse. As the very detailed description at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1147349 explains, a "small slit at apex of gable ... is probably a smoke ventilation for the open hearth fire; if so it is of exceptional interest."
