L'hymne est un acrostiche, les premières mots des lignes reconstituées permettant de lit : "Je suis Assurbanipal, celui qui t'a appelé : donne-moi la vie, Marduk, and je te prierai !".

English: Hymn dedicated by Ashurbanipal, king of Assyria (668-630 BC) to the divine pair MArduk-Zarpanitu. Acrostic Hymn, the first sign of each lines reading from top to bottom : "I am Assurbanipal, who has called out to you: give me life, Marduk, and I will praise you!" (transl. from A. Livingstone, SAA 3).
