Summary

Description The 11th day of Armenian presidential election protests. At 7:30 am, the peaceful "camp-in" protest at Liberty Square in Yerevan was violently ended by Armenian special forces which used truncheons and electric shock devices to disperse the crowd of around 1,000. At 12:30 pm, a new crowd marches to the French Embassy in a spontaneous demonstration, barricade themselves using abandoned police buses, and grow in number to around 150,000. By 12 am, about 2,000 demonstrators are left barricaded.

In this picture (12 am), 2 rows of riot police followed by a row of special forces guard Shahumian Square. (Meanwhile, tens of demonstrators which opposition leaders say are led by provocateurs loot a grocery store and break windows a kilometer away.)
