English: Arleen McCarty Hynes, who was a pioneer of the art of biblio/poetry therapy for mental patients. This photo was taken when she was a widow, after she became a sister of the Order of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph, Minnesota. Before she became a widow she was was happily married to Emerson Hynes, a professor at St. Joseph's University where she worked in the monastery as a librarian, and they had 10 children.
