Summary edit

Media data and Non-free use rationale
Description Picture of Geo Soctomah Neptune's sculptural woven basket Apikcilu Binds the Sun (2018) at the Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C., in 2023. An oval woven basket made from black ash sits in a vitrine in a gallery. A large portion of the woven wood has been dyed to contrast with the non-dyed black ash, creating an ombre effect that starts as blue at the bottom of the basket and transitions to various soft shades of lilac, pink, and yellow. The basket has a fitted lid with a similar ombre coloring with a central pink section. A woven bird made of the same black ash as the basket and decorated with strands of gold beads is perched on the left portion of the lid.
