| Description |
English: Abellio Surrey 9725 (V325 KGW), a Dennis Trident/Alexander ALX400, seen in Redhill Road, between Cobham and Byfleet, Surrey, operating a special service for the 2010 Cobham bus rally. It is on special service 477, which links the bus museum (where the bus is picking up outside of here) and Wisley Airfield, where the majority of the vehicles were being shown. Behind is Shaftesbury & District Motor Services Ltd's unique middle staircase front entrance extended RMA class Routemaster coach RME1 (reg. KGJ 603D) doing the same.
V325 KGW was new to Connex in January 2000 as their TA25. Connex was purchased by National Express Group, and V325 KGW moved into the Travel London fleet. Since National Express sold the Travel London and Travel Surrey operations to NedRailways in 2009, the operations have been renamed to Abellio London and Abellio Surrey. V325 KGW was running as an Abellio Surrey bus when seen here - one of very few double deckers allocated to Byfleet garage for use on school services. Byfleet depot isn't very suitable for double decker operation, with a low bridge meaning buses can only exit to the south, and a number of services the depot running having low bridges as well. Some "Abellio Surrey" double decker operated services actually run out of the Abellio London depot at Twickenham. |
