English: This is the same Athlon64 3200+ as I imaged here flic.kr/p/2iL1mhf, but now I have improved my lighting setup in order to remove the dark banding. Unfortunately this has caused some of the damage to the chip to be more pronounced, a lot of what appears to be dust or dirt is actually small craters.
The colours in this shot are completely different from the other one and more of the fainter circuitry is better exposed. The AMD Logo as well as some other markings are inscribed in the bottom left corner. This is a composite of 150 images taken by a pixel 2XL from a microscope at 40X. The images had 65% overlap and were stitched together in Microsoft Image Composite Editor using the structured panorama mode. |
