This detail clearly shows how the vibrations of strings and bridge are transmitted to the element of an old-fashioned grammophone. These vibrations are transformed by the membrane of this element into sound waves in the horn of the violin (the horn is not seen here). This leads to a nasal sharp sound that is used in this case in Rumanian folk music. |
