This image qualifies for fair use in the article 4769 Castalia since:

1) Illustrates the discovery and significance of contact binaries.

2) No freely available alternative to this unique image since the resolution of Arecibo Observatory is beyond the means of most observatories and thus not easily reproducible. Castalia will not make another Earth close approach of 0.02AU until 2046.

3) Does not make the work as a whole less valuable to the copyright holder since the image was created for scientific purposes.
