English: Lt Roger W. “Cap” Rowland of the 27th Aero Squadron with his Nieuport 28, August 1918. Rowland was a hero in his hometown of Springfield, MA, he was credited with shooting down three planes and unofficially with downing nine others in 15 air combats.
