| Description |
Gymnopilus sapineus group Image location: Borovoye National Park, Akmola District, Kazakhstan Pholiota (Fr.) P. Kumm. Cap: 3-5cm wide, convex, sometimes with slightly sunken centre when old, often irregular in plan because crowded; colour is orange up to irregular reddish-yellow and purplish-orange. Cap surface is smooth up to glossy when dry; flesh is thin whitish. Gills: attached with notched edge (pinching out end), almost free when old, light yellow up to dull orange-pink, close and narrow up to moderately broad with short and very short additional gills. Stalk: 4-6cm long, 0.5-0.8cm thick and hollow with a cavity between stalk and a cap centre. Edibility: no data. Habitat: small group or crowded clusters on partially rotten stumps in pine-tree forest with rare birches. June-August (?) Recognized by sight
