An example of the 8ft 2" wheeled Caledonian 2-2-2. They were built from 1859 onwards and served as the main express engine until 1885. The final engine was withdrawn from service in 1901. This photo was taken from an old original photo we came across while helping to clear the house of a deceased friend. I have uploaded it to Flickr in the hope that it might be interesting to steam enthusiasts. |
