English: GM created Pontiac in 1926, sold beside the more expensive Oakland. The Oakland was dropped in 1933, the Pontiac continued to be sold until 2010.
The original Grand Am was built from 1973-75. Pontiac hybridized the Trans Am with the Grand Prix to create the Grand Am. (Grand for luxury and Am for performance) Built on the A-body platform, the intended GTO body was re-badged and fitted with the Grand Prix interior. Available in 2 or 4 door.
The 1973 Pontiac Grand Am style had a unique flexible urethane front fascia center nose (known as the 'Endura' nose) with six grille openings
The 1974 Grand Am got a redesigned nose and grille with 12 openings with horizontal bars.
