Raven Black.
Fords Pony car, the Mustang was first introduced in April, 1964.
1966 saw a mild facelift on the Mustang, the grille was now a brick style mesh, (65 cars were honeycomb). The Mustang was still available in Fastback, Hardtop or Convertible.
Shelby American built performance versions of the Mustang. The 1966 GT350 was again based on the GT Fastback, the Shelby got the same stripes and bonnet scoop as the 65 car, but now featured plexiglass rear quarter windows (louvres in 65) and brake scoops in the rear quarters, the 66 model had a backseat again and was available now in 4 colours (only colour was white in 65). An auto trans and a Paxton supercharger were now options..
Shelby also built 936 mostly Black with Gold stripe GT350s for the Hertz rental company, available for rent for $17 day and 17c per mile. Weekend racers eagerly lined up, but their unauthorized track outings made the venture a mite unprofitable, and Hertz bailed out after just one year.
Engine; all 1965-66 Shelby Mustangs had the 306 bhp K Code 289 V8 with high riser manifold.
