Summary

Description
English: The rail yards of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in 1916 were on 2 sides of a single track section (bottom center) near the northern ends of the Gettysburg Electric Railway on Washington and Carlisle streets (dashed). Western Maryland Railway (WM) rail yards were to the east and at one time had 6 crossings over Stratton Street (left of "Gas House"). The rail yards of the Reading Company were on the west side of town to the north-south Gettysburg and Harrisburg Railway line, which extended southward on the Round Top Branch (bottom, toward left). (The map for the 1913 Gettysburg reunion depicts a more complex configuration at the east-west WM crossing with the G&H.) A WM siding extended farthest west up the slope toward the Seminary Ridge railroad cut.
