Summary

Description
English: Only 3150 were minted at Carson City (cc) and less than 10% are thought to have survived. Rather scarce in good condition. The dies were engraved by Christian Gobrecht from drawings by Titian Peale & Thomas Sully with the 'Goddess of Liberty' inspired by the UK 'Britannia'. H.F.Rice was the Superintendent of the Carson City Mint at the time. The 1871 & 1873 issues had a lower mintage.
