Description

Photograph showing assembled cartridge case, high-explosive shell and No. 106 Mk II instantaneous percussion fuze made in August 1917, for British QF 18-pounder field gun.
Note 1 : The safety cap is still on the fuze, this would be removed before loading.
Note 2 : The shell has been fired, indicated by grooves in driving band around base of shell.
Note 3 : This HE shell would originally have been painted yellow.
