Description1761 or 1786 Deerlijk by Dominicq Rathel of the legend of Kapel ter Ruste.jpg
English: The legend was captured by the de Cassina family themselves (in which they pretended to be part of it) in a painting in 1761. The painting made by the painter Dominicq Rathel (Kortrijk) hangs in the Sint-Columba Church in Deerlijk. The church archive of Harelbeke contains two documents from 1761 about its order by the chaplain of Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Ruste. Furthermore, proof of payment shows that the work of art was delivered in the same year. The painting is nevertheless signed Dominicq Rathel Pinxit 1786. Perhaps this was an early restoration, or was it done over? The documents refer to Amadeus Dominicus Ratel (without h).
