English: 122d Infantry Regiment Coat of Arms as revised by TIOH on 29 August, 2023.

BLAZON: Shield. Quarterly Argent and Azure an eagle’s head erased Or, langued and collared Gules, on a canton Azure a fleur-de-lis, the center portion a palm frond Argent. Crest. That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Georgia Army National Guard: From a wreath Argent and Azure, a boar’s head erased Gules, in the mouth an oak branch Vert fructed Or.

SYMBOLISM:

The service of the former organization, then the 122d Infantry, is indicated by the quartered shield which simulates the cross hairs of an optical sighting device and is blue and white to represent the Infantry. The eagle with its keen eyesight, powerful talons and collar symbolizes the unit’s original mission as a “TOW” (tube launched, optically tracked, wire guided missile) unit. The canton alludes to those elements of the 122d Infantry that had World War II service in Europe, represented by a fleur-de-lis, and the Pacific Islands, suggested by the palm frond.
