Running on 12 November 1988 Hertfordshire Rail tour ran two trains to and from Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog originating at Euston. 'The Snowdonian' passengers then took the Ffestiniog Railway returning back on the other train to London thus making a circular trip. An all First Class tour with at seat dining, using the VIP charter stock which was under the InterCity sector's ownership.
Seen at Porthmadog is 37427 Bont Y Bermo which worked the train from Wolverhampton. This was after disembarking and transferring to the Ffestiniog Railway.
