Summary

Description

Three buildings on Union Square West, between 14th and 15th Streets, in Manhattan, New York City.

  • On the left, 1 Union Square West, the Lincoln Building, is a Romanesque Revival granite building designed by R.H. Robertson and built in 1889-1890.
  • In the middle, 5-9 Union Square West, the Springler Building, also Romanesque Revival, was built in 1890.
  • On the right, 15 Union Square West, was originally built for Tiffany & Co in 1870, but the original cast-iron facade was later covered with white bricks. In 2007, when it was converted into 36 condominiums, the bricks were removed, and a steel-and-glass exterior, designed by Eran Chen was constructed over the cast-iron facade, with additional stories added. The new interiors were by Vincente Wolf Associates.
