Euphony Communications, Ltd was founded in 1998 by US born Dan Robison. Following the success of Excel Telecommunications, Inc in the US, the company used a similar type direct sales program to attract independent salesmen who would offer a multitude of services to family and friends, and receive commissions relating to their usage. The sales force was encouraged to build teams who did the same. Euphony sold telephony services through a wholesale agreement with Cable & Wireless Telecom, and resold at a retail pricing structure which was competitive with local pricing and offers.

Euphony was repeatedly featured in UK national newspapers, which referenced its rapid expansion and success. In 2004, the company was sold to an investor group led by Giles Redpath, who took over as CEO in 2004. The operation relocated to Basingstoke, UK until it discontinued business in 2010. The shares are held thus; Giles Redpath (53%), Penta Capital (35%), management (2%), others (10%).[1]
