Brain rot

(Redirected from Brainrot)

"Brainrot" is a term used colloquially to describe a state of being excessively absorbed or fixated on a particular topic or interest, to the point where it consumes one's thoughts and attention, often in a way that is perceived as unhealthy or obsessive. It can refer to a range of activities or interests, such as a specific fandom, hobby, or even a pattern of thinking.

The term is often used humorously or self-deprecatingly to acknowledge when someone is spending an inordinate amount of time thinking about, discussing, or engaging with something, sometimes to the detriment of other responsibilities or interests. It implies that one's mind is "rotting" or becoming less functional due to overindulgence in a particular subject. However, it's typically not used in a clinical sense but rather as a lighthearted way to describe a temporary state of intense preoccupation.
