The beginning

Have just added the casts of Furtwangler 1950 Ring, Solti Ring, Kempe Lohengrin, Karajan Meistersinger, a Furtwangler Walkure and the Solti Tannhauser. I think you'll need to include people who have only done one major role, at least if it is major enough. And I don't think we should exclude people who do smaller roles, because they too are very important! In fact, one difficulty will be to know which is which, and who hasn't done what. I recommend add them all in, and then put a star or something next to any that seem to be too minor to require special reference. Maybe a second list, for 'lesser Wagnerians?! Thanks. As you can see I am trying to sort them out by fach. In the case of the early singers I have been trying to find their first names. Although I have taken out some major names, all the minor ones are left in for now. Any lists for post-1975? Maybe Barenboim cast lists? -- Kleinzach 00:39, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Why not simply create an appendix file for the as-yet-unidentified surnames, and for unwanted lesser gods, where they can be researched at leisure? - i.e., a 'B-list' as appendix to this 'A-list'? I'm sure there are many more names to go into this list as yet, it is just an outline at present and has a wonderful future! I haven't got immediate access to the more modern cast lists (except online, of course), but I will ask a friend of mine if he can help. He has shown a little interest in what you are doing. Wagner singers lacking full names

This is the list of unidentified 19th century Wagner singers for which we lack full names: Mme Listner, Pappenheim (mezzo - Brunnhild, etc), Bauermeister, Cary, Kurt, Wippern (Elsa), Moran-Olden, Isnardon, Montariol, Abrahamoff, Vinogradov, Lieban (Mime), Greve, Wiegand, Sylva (ten), Ravelli, del Puente, Stritt (Walther, etc), A Bischoff,, A. Blum, Kemlitz (shepherd, Beckmesser), Sanger, Goritz, Jager (third ever Parsifal), Fuchs (bs), Blass (Gurnemanz USA).

1976 Bayreuth

I would think that all of the singers of the centenary Jahrhundertring in Bayreuth belong in the list, - I left some without a link to not have a sea of red, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:44, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
