Erika Coleman edit

Regarding the article you created, Erika M. Coleman...the article reads a bit too promotional. I'll be more than happy to work with you on improving the tone; just drop me a line on my talk page or leave a reply here if you need any help. I've already done some minor cleanup work on the article. Thank you for joining Wikipedia and for your edits, and I hope to hear from you soon!   Hello, Wilsonatwork. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 17:37, 21 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Images and other issues edit

Regarding your messages at User talk:A930913/BracketBotArchives/ 6#BracketBot – Wilsonatwork, I have changed the image. You have uploaded not just two images of Erika Coleman, but four, two of which are currently tagged for deletion as likely copyright violations. Also, if you're "tasked with editing" and have been "instructed" to create certain pages, you should take a look at our guideline on conflicts of interest. In particular, I don't think your assessment of Coleman's notability is unbiased. Huon (talk) 23:46, 21 November 2013 (UTC) Hello all, THANK YOU for helping guide me through this process. I tried to make my "editor's profile" with a quote and photo. I hope I did this correctly.Reply

I am in the middle of doctoring scripts (AKA) how I pay the bills and am unfamiliar with wikipedia. Challenge accepted. Time to master (okay learn) wikipedia.

I appreciate all the guidance and advice everyone has sent me.

Thank you so much, Nancy
