Hello edit

Welcome. I hope you like this place. Wikipedia sure can be a bit barren, but there are still many things to discover. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 09:34, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ian Carter (businessman) edit

Hello Rydex64, I hope you are good. You recently Draftified this article with the reason stating that it is not ready for the mainspace. I would like to seek guidance from you about the issues in the article and how we can improve it. I am looking forward to discussing it more. Thank you for your time and consideration. Dosedsneer (talk) 13:47, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

When you move an article from article space to draft space, please provide an explanation that is more specific than saying that it is not ready for mainspace. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:54, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hey Dosedsneer, Apologizes for the delay in response. I was away travelling so I couldn't look into my Talk page much. I draftified the page since I couldn't find any Independent sources about the subject in the article. It would be great if you can go ahead and add them re-submit once it's ready. Please refer WP:IS. Thanks.

Mass Appeal India moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Mass Appeal India. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and does not pass WP:SIRS. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 05:41, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for June 3 edit

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mass Appeal India, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Orchard.

Varun Sunil edit

Hi Rydex64, would you mind explaining how you got the File:Varun Sunil.jpg image? Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 19:17, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jeraxmoira, The image was actually photographed by myself during Masala Coffee's concert in JCT College. I do concert photography sometimes. 𝓡𝔂𝓭𝓮𝔁 04:41, 4 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's great! Did you share the photographs with Varun Sunil as well? Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 10:06, 4 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Jeraxmoira, Thanks! Also, I did share my photographs with their event team. May I know why please? 𝓡𝔂𝓭𝓮𝔁 10:43, 4 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you are directly in contact with Varun Sunil, you need to disclose this. I hope you are familiar with WP:COI. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 12:24, 4 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Jeraxmoira, I'm totally aware about WP:COI. Currently, all the pages I contribute to on Wikipedia are purely out of personal interest in the subject. If a conflict of interest arises, I will disclose it. Thank you.
Varun's page was also done by myself. He's the guy behind Masala Coffee and I listen to them and him quite a lot! ;) 𝓡𝔂𝓭𝓮𝔁 13:21, 4 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding non-admin closures edit

Hi Rydex64, I noticed that you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gul Wareen as delete and accordingly tagged the page for G6. However, while the consensus was clear in this case, it is generally not advised that non-admins close discussions for which they cannot enact the result, since an admin would still need to come by to ensure the process is completed properly. (In other words, non-admin closures requiring admin action do not save any admin time and so have the potential to cause more problems than they solve.) I would suggest you stick to cases where the result is an unequivocal keep/merge/redirect/draftify as you gain more experience with the process. Cheers, Complex/Rational 12:13, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi ComplexRational, Thanks for the feedback! This is my first time experimenting with XFDCloser Tool. I really value your feedback and I'll ensure to stick with the suggestions you gave me. I have read WP:NAC. Let me know if there's anything else I need to be aware of, please! Cheers. 𝓡𝔂𝓭𝓮𝔁 12:32, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Certainly! And feel free to give me a ping if you have other questions. Complex/Rational 13:54, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

To be very clear edit

Walter Breen was in fact convicted of those crimes, so if you want to remove it from the lede and have it stay out, I recommend a better rationale than just "not constructive". DS (talk) 22:36, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @DragonflySixtyseven, Apologizes for the error! I mistakenly thought the content was non-constructive or possibly vandalism. It appeared to be categorizing the crime as an occupation, both in the content and the infobox. I don't have a personal view on the subject and I'm not attempting to safeguard the subject. I reverted it because the crime was already detailed under "Walter Breen Arrests and Convictions" and someone else previously reverted it too. Please feel free to revert it back and correct me! :) Thank you. 𝓡𝔂𝓭𝓮𝔁 05:48, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Whether it's appropriate right there is a different issue, but it was clearly well-intentioned, and thus not vandalism. Note my own edit summary here.
It's an interesting question: for people who were notable for reasons aside from their horrible offenses (e.g. Russell Williams, whose military career may well have meant he met general notability requirements), in what way should the offenses be incorporated into the lede? There may already be something about this in the manual of style; if not, perhaps I'll start a discussion. DS (talk) 16:20, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
