Your contributed article, Bhangra music edit

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Bhangra music. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Bhangra. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Bhangra - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. First Light (talk) 22:32, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re: list of bhangra bands edit

Re: your message: As noted by Barek, please review Wikipedia:Vandalism before accusing any editor of vandalism. I also recommend that you review Wikipedia:Civility as name calling as you did on my talk page is unnecessary. All of my edits were in line to clean up the listing of the article to remove non-notable bands without articles or links to articles that were not about musical acts. If you have issues with certain bands' inclusion on the list, like JoSH, as imported from Category:Bhangra musical groups, then I suggest that you take up the category dispute on the respective band's article talk page. If you feel that a band is notable enough for inclusion on the list, I suggest that you create a new article about them. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:51, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did to List of bhangra bands, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 04:12, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

July 2010 edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 days to prevent further disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war at List of bhangra bands. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. Shimeru 17:18, 24 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for repeated abuse of editing privileges. You are welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Please note, immediately returning and resuming the activity that resulted in the initial block is not acceptable. Take your issues to the article talk page, and allow community consensus to develop. Continued disruptive editing can result in blocks of longer durations, and if needed semi-protection of the article. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 01:09, 1 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

October 2011 edit

This is your last warning. The next time you violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by inserting unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at List of bhangra bands, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You have been repeatedly warned over these types of edits in the past, and even blocked twice from editing as a result of your disruptive editing to this article. Entries should be demonstrated to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines at WP:N and WP:BAND - using original research to create the list fails Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 16:37, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Multitone records edit

The article Multitone records has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced article that likely doesn't meet WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. 3RR warning on List of bhangra bands edit

Your recent edits seem to have the appearance of edit warring after a review of the reverts you have made on List of bhangra bands. Users are expected to collaborate and discuss with others and avoid editing disruptively.

Please be particularly aware, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 02:26, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

List of bhangra bands edit

This is not a list of all bhangra bands. This is not a list of bhangra bands and their record labels. This is not a list of bhangra bands who may or may not be active. It is not a list of bhangra bands and their members. It is a list of notable bhangra bands. This means that all of the content you have been adding is not relevant or sourced. Undo your last edit to the article or you will very likely be blocked for edit warring.—Ryulong (竜龙) 02:31, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

thank you for bringing it to my attention, I have edited out notable to include list of bhangra bands.
That was not the point. Wikipedia is not a place to list everything that belongs under a single topic. It should only be a list of notable bhangra bands, of which there are only 11 entries.—Ryulong (竜龙) 03:03, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of List of bhangra bands for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of bhangra bands is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of bhangra bands until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. —Ryulong (竜龙) 03:08, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

For someone accusing others of ethnocentrism, you sure are being extremely ethnocentric yourself. Wikipedia has no bias. Only editors like yourself are biased. I have no opinion as to the bhangra music genre. All I know is that you have severe ownership issues, you do not know what Wikipedia is for, and you lack any good faith towards other users. ms scandalous, abrar ul haque and lmfao JOSH back under 'list of bhangra bands' bwaahahahahahhahaa, go ahead throw lady gaga in too. care to explain how single individuals, abrar ul haque, ms scandalous, aman hayer etc. constitute bands?

Please calm down. You seem to confuse several issues. The AfD nomination is deciding whether Wikipedia should have a list on the topic. It does not mean the list entries cannon be adjusted thereafter by discussing them on the list's talk page. Please do not clutter the AfD discussion with tangential arguments about individual entries that have been added in good faith by some contributors who don't breathe bhangra every day. I'm sure they would be quite willing to have a reasoned discussion with you about the individual entries on talk:List of bhangra bands. Reserve Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of bhangra bands for arguments whether a list should exist in Wikipedia at all. Proposed deletion of Jazzy B edit

I have removed the proposed deletion tag you placed on Jazzy B, as the article was discussed and kept following a deletion discussion a few years ago and per policy is permanently ineligible for deletion under the proposed deletion process. Footnotes on list of bands edit

Stop putting little notes on the list of bands. No other list has that information on it. You do not need to differentiate between another entity known as "Punjabi by Nature" on List of bhangra bands. It's a list of bands. Solo artists would not be on the page.—Ryulong (竜龙) 03:42, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

"It's a list of bands. Solo artists would not be on the page." thats what I have been trying to tell you for the past few days. However, many solo artists are being inserted by you (such as ms scandalous), so I have to put the note to differentiate and avoid reader confusionNoxiousnews (talk) 03:55, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have not added anything to the list. But let me clarify myself. You do not have to put a note there to differentiate anything on that page. None of the other things are disambiguated. If anything, if there will be a page on the DJ, it would be at "DJ Punjabi by Nature". Stop putting a note of any type next to the Punjabi by Nature entry there.—Ryulong (竜龙) 04:13, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
