WP:BLP1E seems to apply here. This person is only being mentioned in connection to one event (some sort of spat between these him and veena malik). If this is so, an article should probably not be created. He appears to be a low profile individual, and this event is not really significant. It seems unlikely that coverage of this will persist. Dear Gogo Dodo. You made a big mistake by deleting V.I.S. - VOX band page. You didn't even let me finish the article. It's new rock band, but it has great individual references. Its members are experienced and respectable rock band artists in the Macedonian and Balcan's music scene. There are former members of the best macedonian rock band Arhangel. V.I.S. - VOX has just published it's first CD and many people are interested in band's work and looking for information about this band. Suspected sockpuppet of User:Sayan Basu

Recently you blocked the User:Sayan Basu for holding sockpuppets. I suspect another user User:Kate Cruise to be a sockpuppet of Sayan Basu, based on edit history and vandalism on similar articles. The apparent reason was I removed certain information from the article Jalpaiguri (I think he belongs from that place) which apparently looked like factual errors and asked him not to refer Jalpaiguri as a city [1]. Cooch Behar is my home town and has been mentioned on my userpage, I think he has a grudge over that. I have detected another user User:Anurag Aryya who surprisingly blanked the page Jalpaiguri, which seems to be another sockpuppet of Sayanbasu (may be to confuse the admins) or an edit warring account of some other user. in the January 11, 2014 paper This was listed in the references the last time I undid your undo.

I was a source for information in the article. So were several other Tumbleweeds.

I am the Tumbleweeds Historian. I have played for 35 years and have documented every game the Tumbleweeds have played.

Well Gogo Dodo, you deleted my article within 10 minutes of it being posted, you're fast! Is there some rule that says I can't use Wikipedia to make fun of my friends? If you would have let me get around to siting my sources you would have found that the page was not defamatory but very accurate. If you would allow this page to be online for just one week it would make a lot of people laugh, including the band. Furthermore The Jephries are a real band and I hope to create a legitimate page for them, I hope this does interfere with that. I know that this is an educational site and it needs to be accurate... but what could it hurt allowing my page; an insignificant amount of people will see it and it will bring joy to those that do. I hope you respond to me, whatever your answer, as fast as you deleted my Jephries page.

The elevator vandal - the continuing saga

For some reason, I never got a notification of your ping at Wikipedia:Edit filter/Requested. Did you by any chance manually edit the time stamp of your previous post, rather than using ~~~~? That's the one thing I can think of that would have had that effect, since adding a user link is notified only if it is followed by ~~~~. As it happens, it didn't matter, because I saw your edit to User:JamesBWatson/The elevator vandal, and that prompted me to find your other, related, edit. I wonder whether setting the edit filter to block edits is in fact a mistake. Before, the vandal edited only one type of target page, so it was relatively easy to spot. If, however, he/she moves to a wider range of types of pages to evade the edit filter, it will become more difficult to find the edits. I wonder if just setting the edit filter to record the events, but not block them, nor even notify the editor, would be better. That way, we could see the edits and revert them, but the editor might be more likely to keep the vandalism restricted to a limited range of pages. For the same reason, creation-protection of the pages affected may be a mistake. User:John of Reading may also like to comment. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:47, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

I think we're okay for now as the filter is only looking for edits from that ISP he always uses. If an editor comes from anywhere else, they should be fine. The check against the ISP is part of what makes the filter efficient and unlikely to block any false positives. I've been checking the filter logs every day and it has not blocked anything but him. If he starts using another ISP or goes outside of the two namespaces he is using, then we're going to have a potential problem and changing to a log-only mode might be a good idea.

I had protected his repeat portal talk targets from creation hoping to discourage him, but it appears that I have inadvertently moved him into a different name space. I recall that there are other portal talk pages that have similar protection set by other admins, so I was discouraged to see that he moved to portal when he did not before.

As for the ping not working. I'm not sure what happened there. I did overwrite my original comment, so perhaps that is what caused the notifications to not work. I haven't looked into the details on what does and what does not cause an notification. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:34, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello there, I added details of a graphic design company I have come across while in Melbourne - 3 Halves Design http://3halvesdesign.com/ - You deleted it. I thought it deserved mention as many other commercial ventures are mentioned on the page. I believe 3 Halves is a unique pay as you feel/want business. Perhaps I did not pop it in the correct area or I worded it in a way that was incorrect? It should be in the 'History and commercial uses' area? There is mention of albums, restaurants, software, theatres, bakeries, video games and may more on the page - why not design? I noticed your blocking of Aei4eia for ISU and as the Account creator that created this account, I was hoping you could give me some insight as to how this username represented a group, organization, or website so that I can improve my filtering techniques for future accounts. I blocked the account because the user page the created was linked to the management consulting firm at http://www.aei4eia.com.au/. It also contained typical marketing buzzwords and phrases, though they were removed after the {{db-spam}} tag was placed on the user page (by a steward, though I just noticed that and it wasn't a factor in my deletion and block). It was obvious from the web link and the material added that they were there to promote or act on behalf of the company.

I don't know what the account request looked like, but the account name by itself wouldn't have raised any flags for me. It looks pretty innocuous being fairly random looking. It was only after their edits that the company question was obvious. The company website does appear first if you Google the name, but I don't think you want to be Googling every name requested. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 03:20, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

• Goggling requested names is actually a fairly common practice, although I'm guessing I didn't for this particular name because I wasn't expecting there to be any possibility of Aei4eia being a notable name or word. Had I seen that, I likely would have created the account anyway as that kind of name would fall under AGF. I likely would have used the {{Welcome-COI|newuser=yes}} welcome message though. I'm sorry, but I can not remove deletion logs. While some logs may be suppressed under certain circumstances, I do not believe this is one of those cases, though you are welcome to make a request. I Googled it, too, and I don't get the deletion log results either. The first site returned is their corporate website followed by their Facebook page. Restricting the Google search to just en.wikipedia.org doesn't find it either. All you get is the Twinkle CSD log for the editor who tagged it. Northwind band deleted

This is what you state in the 'common reasons why you have deleted my article' :

If you or your band is unsigned or has yet to release any albums through a major label or important indie label, then you are not likely to meet the notability criteria.

I suspect that this is a case of two bands having the same name, one that might be notable and one that was clearly not notable back in 2011 when the article was deleted. I checked the website for Polydor records and there is no Northwind group listed, so I can not verify if it is the same band as the one deleted in 2011. The band whose article I deleted back in 2011 was clearly not notable at the time because it was newly formed and had released no records. It appears to be some teenagers' brand new band. The name Northwind (band) is not a particularly unique name, so having two bands with the same name is entirely plausible. Going back to the band you are referring to, you are welcome to create an account and write a new article about the band, but there is no reason for me to undelete the article from 2011 as it was clearly non-notable at the time of deletion and there is nothing salvageable from the deleted article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:26, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

• On Facebook, I cannot edit; I enjoy editing on this website and plan on continuing to do so for some time. I have limited the amount of biographical information, and added information related to Wikipedia. My page was deleted by RHaworth earlier, for the reason of "freeloading". After contributing 100 times, I was allowed to return my page to the Wikipedia, because I am a contributor.
