I'm an absolute newbee to Wiki Edits. I've added a line and some references to the Wiki article for Peter Gunnarsson Rambo. Should I open a user talk page since I am seldom on-line? My replies could take years literally. Is is a bad idea to put my e-address on a user talk page? I'll check back for an answer. Thanks.

It couldn't hurt to use your own talk page. I wouldn't put my e-mail online, but there's a place in the "Preferences" menu where you can enter it so people can e-mail you (I think this keeps it private). Nice additions to Rambo, by the way. --Coemgenus 21:10, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

New proposal

Hi Coemgenus, (They sure are taking their sweet time over at RfC). I was just taking in your user page. It's sort of funny that we are on the 'same page' in so many other areas, right down to our Irish and Italian ancestry. In any event I was having second thoughts about the postage/stamp section on the Harrison page, that perhaps there is too much mention of Harrison's postmaster and perhaps other things. I still think a 'catch all' section is not exactly the best approach but instead I have something else in mind that perhaps will make all parties comfortable. We could make a 'Legacy' section, with small sub sections for 'postage' (of course) one for 'currency', and one for 'memorials', and maybe one for paintings and other items. I am going to edit the current postage section on the Harrison page, remove two of the stamp images and try to condense some of the info' making cursory mention of the nation's first commemorative postage stamps. This will be what I hope will be a sub section to a 'legacy' section. Below is a rough draft/outline of what I have in mind.

Harrison has a long and interesting legacy..

Postage

More than most presidents, Harrison...

Currency

Currency material, images, etc.

Memorials

Harrison has been the subject of many paintings and statues, etc...

March 2011 GAN backlog elimination drive a week away

I think you helped with the issue about the number of stamps. User:Gwillhickers has reinserted an airmail stamp we removed - it may be okay to keep it - it was apparently the only airmail stamp for a pres.(it may need another source). The point I wanted to raise with you is that this user is a philatelist. I have asked him to please leave a brief description of his edit next time. I really do think it's not right to be "sticking" stamps everywhere without even noting that on the edit summary line. Can we get a senior editor to communicate this? Thanks for the correction re Booth; it prompted a little research and a needed edit I think in the assassination section. I looked up Confederate in the OED = "one belonging to or supporting the CSA". I left the "Confederate" spy in place. Just read more of your talk page about you and enjoyed it! - ok for "which" and "that", but have you noticed how writers are using "that" rather than "who", as if they're so worried about "who" and "whom", they default to "that"? Hello! I remember some time back you said you were interested in improving the Mitch Daniels article if he ran for president. I wanted to let you know I've been working on it lately, and think I have it near GA quality. It can obviously still be improved a whole lot. I am 90% sure is going to run, it would awfully unusual if he didn't, given what all hes been up to lately. Gwillickers disruptive behavior.

I'm preparing a user conduct RfC on Gwillickers for disruptive behavior, canvassing and making legal threats. If you're interested in participating I was hoping that you might gather all of the violations he made at Benjamin Harrison. Since I was not involved in that discussion I feel that you have the most perspective related to that. I have a draft page of the RfC in my user space. I copied another ongoing RfC and stripped out the information for use so it's under construction. Feel free to edit in that space or bring up questions on the talk page there. FYI, we had a senior editor and administrator, User talk:Connormah, stop by AL to make an edit tweak in May and I noted this problem for him on his user talk page on May 24 (since archived). I didn't ask him for any action, and he didn't offer any, but he expressed appreciation for all the work on the article - perhaps he would advise on this process. Filed at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Gwillhickers. The two users who have unresolved issues with Gwill are Coemgenus and Parkwells. Those two editors must certify that they've tried to resolve an issue with Gwill and failed. Only those two editors (from what I can understand) must reply at the Rfc in the Users certifying the basis for this dispute section within 48 hours or the RfC will be invalid. • (Responding to your message on my talk) Users you mention in the RfC/U should be notified, but if you want to avoid accusations of canvassing, you could explain why they are being notified in the notification itself (rather than having to defend yourself later). For example, following on from the subst message you linked to, "...A discussion is going on there about that editor. You are being invited because your name has been mentioned in the RfC/U." So if you were to notify Wehwalt in this way, the first thing he would/should do is look for his name in the RfC/U and see how it is mentioned. In this case, it would make sense because the RfC/U explicitly says "User:Wehwalt explained the nature of FA biographies, summary style, and reliable sources." Afterwards, Wehwalt might endorse that summary, he might submit a view disagreeing with that, or he might add another view expanding upon that and the RfC/U itself. They do not need to be deeply involved in the issue, but there needs to be a really relevant connection: the user should have said/done something in relation to the subject of the RfC/U or in an earlier step in dispute resolution. Obviously, by one point or another, there should be enough evidence to stand on its own and users who have had no involvement in the issue can comment. Hope that helps (and if you have any other questions or wish for more guidance about a particular instance, don't hesitate to ask; will try to get back to you ASAP)! Re: Walnut Hill & the R8 Newtown stops

I've watched these articles for a while, and there's more than NPOV by the obvious R8 supporter that concerns me. I'm not unconvinced that half of these photos are copyright violations.
