Proposed deletion of Mamma, 'k wil 'n man hê edit

Hello, BrightSunMan

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Zippybonzo, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Mamma, 'k wil 'n man hê, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Zippybonzo}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

OK. Does not matter anyway. I just want to translate Afrikaans. BrightSunMan (talk) 13:33, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mamma, 'k wil 'n man hê moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Mamma, 'k wil 'n man hê, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ingratis (talk) 18:12, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I realise that the article has already been marked for deletion, but I have added a source from the Afrikaans Wikipedia and moved the article to Draft instead, as it's possible, if it really is a well-known song, that there may be further sources, if you care to look into it a bit further. Best wishes, Ingratis (talk) 18:12, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problem on Draft:Mamma, 'k wil 'n man hê edit

The song lyrics appear to be copyright, so we're not allowed to include them. Sorry, — Diannaa (talk) 20:10, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Diannaa: - According to the accreditation notice on Wikisource, South African copyright expires 50 years after publication, and the book that is the immediate source of these lyrics was published in 1940. What am I misunderstanding here? Ingratis (talk) 20:47, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've now had a look at the commons:Commons:Hirtle chart and the information here about URAA date for South Africa, and I see that the webpage that stated the lyrics and sheet music are copyright was wrong. I will restore the content. Your link was helpful too, as now I know the publication date, as well as the country of origin. Thanks, — Diannaa (talk) 21:01, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much for the second look. Best wishes, Ingratis (talk) 08:45, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Edit in Faroese orthography edit

Thorn (Þ) which is not appear in Faroese orthography. However, only Icelandic language used the letter thorn (Þ). As a result, the edit was been reverted. TentingZones1 (talk) 12:23, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am tremendously sorry. I should have noticed (Tórshavn, not Þórshavn). BrightSunMan (talk) 12:28, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
