Non-free use disputed for Image:Fredthompsonwatergate2.jpg

Image Fair use rationale problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Fredthompsonwatergate2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 04:11, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for the info, and for uploading the photo in the first place. Yes, I do think it would help if you'd comment at the image deletion page, even if you don't have additional reasons why it shouldn't be deleted. Cheers.Ferrylodge 03:09, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: I Need Some Advice

edit

Hey Stills. When I'm looking up info for Breath of Fire games, as well as any other game I want to write about, I always hit up these sites for sources:

  • GameSpot For reviews/game info. In the case of Breath of Fire I and II, you won't find reviews of the original SNES versions, but the Game Boy Advance sections should still have pertinent info.
  • IGN Same as above. Their reviews for the GBA versions will give you some info.
  • Game Rankings Good for review scores and links to lots of info sites for each game.
  • Dragon-Tear.net I know you saw this, but its a good place for images, not to mentions lots of handy info on just about any game on the series.
  • Mary's Breath of Fire Translations Mary's done us all a big favor with this page. It has a listing of every single piece of Breath of Fire merchandise released, including games, soundtrack, mangas, and guides. Lots of info on japanese source books, too.
  • RPGFan Has soundtrack info, not just for BoF, but everything else, too. Breath of Fire I also never had its own soundtrack released, but Breath of Fire II did. Also has reviews.
  • Chudah's Corner Another soundtrack site, has linear notes and translations for some albums/songs.

Instruction manuals, strategy guides, and magazine articles are all fair game, too, if you can find them. As far as ratings go, I haven't been able to find a definitive site for those, but the ones already on BOF I and II's pages should be okay for now. If you need any more sources, you can look at some of the references on the Breath of Fire III and IV articles. Nall 01:34, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and cleaned up some of the citations with {citeweb} and added some developer info to the navbox for Jet Force Gemini. When I get a chance I'll see what I can do about copy editing it. It's a pretty cool game that I think should be brought up to a higher standard, so I'll be researching some until then. Nall 21:20, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Bof1group.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:44, 14 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. KipSmithers T/C 15:44, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
