Geonotice question

Hi, I'm one of the Wikipedians who got the 2015 Seattle Wiknic geonotice and attended the Wiknic. I wonder if it's still possible to view the banner? I'd like to keep a screenshot of it. Maybe I justneed to un-dismiss the banner, if that's possible? Brianhe (talk) 00:25, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Not easily - they're time-limited as well as geographically limited. The best I could do would be to have the banner run again, get the screenshot, and then cancel it... but that would result in it showing again for everyone in the area. Andrew Gray (talk) 21:43, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
No need to go to the trouble, I got close enough by finding the geonotice text and pasting it into my sandbox. Thanks! Brianhe (talk) 21:49, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Author promoting his work

Hello Andrew, Could you please take a look at this article: Ancestry of Juan Ponce de León, as well as the respective talk page plus the talk page of User:Ayesart? He has used primary sources, misrepresenting them, and even says in one of the paragraphs that I reverted that:It has been said that Ponce de Minerva's ancestry has been a bone of contention since the seventeenth century but John Browne Ayes' and Salazar de Mendoza's work are the only historical works that give the most complete and precise genealogy and historical data to date. John Browe Ayes is the author of a book and also the user Ayesart. I can assure you that that genealogy is totally wrong as I mentioned in the note on the talk page of the respective article on the ancestry of J.P. de León, and the articles I mentioned, all documented with reputable secondary sources. It seems that he is pushing his book. Regards, --Maragm (talk) 16:11, 14 July 2015 (UTC) pd: As an IP, he deleted the entire article becuse, as he says, "It is my article and my sources".

Hi @Maragm:. I'm afraid I don't think I can do much here - I've no background in the subject and no way of telling which sources are appropriate (though I am a little confused as to why it's split off from the Ponce de Leon article). I'll flag it up for someone better qualified to take a look. Andrew Gray (talk) 18:49, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Andrew, if there are any questions, whoever takes a look at it can contact me. --Maragm (talk) 19:20, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
