David King is the Executive Director of the Public School Boards' Association of Alberta, which position he has held since 1990. Prior to that he served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1971 to 1986, during which time he served as Legislative Secretary to then Premier Lougheed (1971 - 1976), Minister of Education (1979 - 1986), and Minister of Technology, Research, and Telecommunications.

Mr. King has also been extensively involved in community development, as a founding member of the Edmonton Citizens for Better Housing Society, the Boyle Street Community Services Cooperative, the Boyle McCauley Health Centre, and the Alberta League for a Local Government Charter. He has also served as a director of private and public corporations, including: L.S.I. Logic Corporation of Canada, Domglas, and FirstClass Systems.

Mr. King has a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Alberta.
