The "family tree" we have is just for one small part of the Whitney family. Why do we have that? Shouldn't we either get rid of it, or label it correctly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:D6D0:4F60:1925:3342:1E97:A72D (talk) 20:52, 30 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
As noted in edit summary, since there was no comment or opposition to this in close to a year, I went ahead and removed the content. It was reverted by another user without specific objection to the intent of the edit, and I provided rationale to him on his talk page and invited him to bring concerns here. I have restored the edit. This content has not context, no descriptive text, is not relevant to the article as a whole (it's just a small piece of the giant Whitney family genealogy, and not one of any specific importance like the first generations of the original immigrant might have been.). If its intent is to show notable whitneys, there is already a section for that, whose format is better than this. Please do not revert again without bringing concerns over the edit here.12.11.127.253 (talk) 21:39, 31 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
